Trusted Orange County Pool Remodeling Services

A swimming pool that is beautifully designed for your unique backyard is only as good as the quality of its construction or remodeling. Central OC Pools is committed to delivering a superior result, both in what you can see and in the work that you can’t see. Our goal is to carry out a high quality remodeling process that can have you enjoying your new pool for many summers to come..

Design and Permits

To ensure that your vision matches the final product, we will provide you with detailed drafts of your design. This will allow you to make changes and improvements as needed before construction actually begins. Once you’ve approved the design, we create detailed structural drawings and apply for the necessary permits for swimming pool construction projects.

Layout and Excavation

This is the first phase of construction of your pool. We will take the measurements for your pool and lay it out in your backyard. This is an opportunity for you to see the actual size and shape in case any last minute modifications need to be made. After the layout is approved, the real work begins. We’ll use special equipment to excavate the grass and soil from your yard to make room for your new pool. This step usually takes only one to two days, and the soil that is removed can either be hauled away or simply moved to another area of the yard, according to your preference.

Steel Framework

After the excavation is complete, a steel installation crew will begin constructing the skeleton structure for your new pool. This forms the shape and support for the cement shell. The steel rods are placed all along the sides and bottom of the pool to provide structural integrity, making your pool durable and long-lasting.

Plumbing, Electrical, and Equipment

Before adding the cement, we first need to install all of the plumbing and electrical required for your pool. We ensure that the new plumbing is pressure tested and the electrical meets the necessary city and state building codes. Correctly sized plumbing is essential to proper circulation and pump efficiency. While plumbing work is occurring, you will see the setup of utilities and the installation of your new equipment. This includes pumps, heaters, and filters. In addition, you have the option at this time to install a salt water system for your pool. Inspections will also be made by the swimming pool remodeling contractor to ensure everything is being completed correctly and the job is going smoothly.

Gunite Application

Next, our experienced team applies the gunite (cement) layer to create the tough inner shell of your new pool. The concrete used is a dry mix that is mixed onsite with water from a hose. The amount of water used during this step is precisely monitored in order to guarantee that the mix has the the correct consistency. After the gunite is added, the new layer will take approximately seven days to fully dry. It will need to be watered several times a day in order to prevent cracking during the drying time.

Tile and Coping

After the structural portion of your new swimming pool has been put in place, the decorative process can finally begin. Based upon your taste and design, a wonderful selection of tile choices is available, including natural stone tiles, slates, ceramics. Mosaics can also be installed to create a one-of-a-kind design. Pool coping, which borders your new pool, comes in a variety of materials, including natural stone, brick, or cement. After this step, your pool is nearly ready for swimming!

Decking

Decking is the hardscape surface that surrounds the perimeter of your pool. A variety of materials can be used here, from custom stone to stamped concrete, based on your design and unique tastes. During this stage, any additional features included in your design, such as outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and built-in BBQ/kitchens will be installed as well.

Plaster and Start-up

Applying the plaster or pebble is a complex process that must be managed meticulously to guarantee that your pool has a beautiful, durable finish. After your new surface is completely applied, the pool is filled with water. Depending on how large your pool is, filling with water usually takes a day or two. In order to eliminate plaster dust, it will need to be brushed at least once a day. If you new surface is pebble, it will also be rinsed in an acidic solution to bring out the beauty of the finish. Once the material has cured, a technician can perform a “start-up,” which involves adding and balancing the chemicals in your new pool.

Finished Project

Your swimming pool project is finally complete! At this point, please let us know if there’s anything you feel we’ve missed or anything you still need done. Good communication is always our highest priority. It is so important to us that you feel satisfied and excited about your new pool.

Hundreds of Satisfied Customers

I recently bought a house and was having problems with my pool. Plaster is coming off right and left. The owner Michael came out and gave me a quote on my pool and also walked me through what was happening to my pool. He was very patient with all of my questions. Being a first time home owner.. I'm very clueless. He went into detail about my pipes and educated me on things I didn't even know about. He explained how I can keep things a certain way for now but down the road I should consider upgrading them. Michael is VERY friendly and honest ... I told him a couple other companies that I was considering using and he gave me information about those companies as well. (I've had other companies bad mouth other people and he did no such thing). I definitely recommend booking an appointment with Michael if you are redoing your pool!

Boy, who thought getting your pool redone could be such a pleasant experience! My wife Carol and I were referred to OC Pools by a close friend. We had recently purchased a house and wanted to spruce up our backyard pool! Central OC Pools did the job! I was very pleased with their entire team! They set out several different options for retiling our pool and communicated prices very clearly! We ended up having the pool retiled with minipebbles and abalone shells! It is so beautiful and we are so pleased with the overall job! They also clean our pool on a weekly basis! The pool always sparkles at the end of a job; the team always lets us know if an issue arises. Luckily, nothing has yet (fingers crossed)! Michael helped answer all of my questions! He was thorough and pleasant. I definitely recommend Central OC Pools for all of your future pool jobs!

After hiring the most expensive full service pool company I could find in my neighborhood ( tustin) we quickly switched over to mikes company. The reasons 1. We were told we had an all inclusive package at $200 / month, but were billed anywhere from $25-89 extra EVERY single month. Michael has now been servicing our pool for 6 months and the only chanve in our bill was for a filter clean, which we needed, and was well documented by his staff. 2. We had service provided on average 3/4 weeks a month. We would call and nothing would be done. C.oC. pools had one guy come and just pour the chemicals in and leave without cleaning the pool. We called Mike and he came out himself with iur pool cleaner and retrained him on propper maintenance. We dont expect our pool service to be perfect, but we do expect them to be responsible when things arent correct. Mike didnt complain or make excuses. He has always made things right and our pool looks great. I really appreciate having a maintenance company that cares about us. Thanks michael (owner) and Chad (our cleaner)

Hands down, my experience with Central OC Pools is the best customer service experience I have ever had! Michael answered right away. I told him about my older than dirt pool pump, he asked me to take pictures of it and send it to him. He explained that my pool pump was very old and maybe even leaking, he recommended an energy efficient one that would work well with my pool. Within hours, he sent me an estimate of how much it would cost and also that he could have it installed for me the next day. NEXT DAY?! 4th of July weekend as well coming up, it was amazing that he saved the day! He was upfront about everything, what to expect, and installation and all. Michael was even nice enough to talk to my insurance company about the issues I was having with my pool pump, which I called as an insurance claim. Kelly was the actual person who came the next day to install the pool pump. He walked us through all the new features and buttons. The next day, my husband had some questions about the pump and we called Michael again. He answered right away and answered all the questions. He is such a pleasure to do business with! Payment was also so easy, it was online. Who doesn't love that! Michael is so nice, patient and accommodating! I will never call anyone else for pool servicing again! Thank you Michael and Kelly for wonderful and fast service! I will recommend you to everyone I know!
